EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT 16 July 2008
This afternoon parents came into school to work in the classroom with their children on an ESD activity such as recycling, composting and cooking. Fair and Green, a shop in the Buttermarket that sells eco-friendly goods and a representative from WRAP talked to parents about ways in which they can live more sustainably. Barry Percy-Smith, a researcher from the University of the West of England, asked parents to complete a questionnaire for his Green Researchers project.
THE GREAT OUTDOORS w/b 9th June
All this week children throughout the school were out and about learning about nature and their local environment. They took part in a wide range of exciting activities organised by teachers, teaching assistants and also six students from Nottingham Trent University. They had a great time 'outdoors'!! One Y4 child commented, 'I liked Friday when we were showing displays and looking at other people's displays because I was amazed at how much you can learn at Bowbridge!'
PUPILS VISIT THE CHARENTE REGION OF FRANCE
12 children recently visited Touverac school and took part in activities with the French children throughout the week.
