Foundation Unit and Busy Bees

FOUNDATION UNIT

The Foundation Unit has a Nursery and two Reception classes. It enables younger children to remain in the unit for much longer before moving to the main school (Year 1). This should aid progress as they move up the school. The Foundation Unit has first class facilities and equipment due to the large investment made in it over the last two years.

Most important of all it has first class staff who were commended by OFSTED, who said: "Teaching in the Foundation is good. The teachers and Nursery Nurses work well together. They play an important role in helping the children to settle in when they first start Nursery and provide good role models. All the adults have a good knowledge of how young children learn, relate well to them, and in consequence children learn and behave well."

Parents who want extra child-care can put their children into Nursery full-time for a very reasonable fee. Morning, or afternoon children can stay to dinner with a large choice of menu.

BUSY BEES

Busy Bees is a private Nursery run within the LEA Nursery offering wrap around care to parents during term time. At present we have a maximum of 8 spaces (afternoons only: 11.30 am - 3.15 pm). A fully trained NVQ childcare practitioner is employed to look after the children. Busy Bees is open to any child (ages 3 - 4) who is eligible for a free place in our LEA nursery. Currently, the costs are £7 per day including cooked dinner. We are registered with Ofsted which enables parents to claim Child Tax Credit rebate.
