From the Head Teacher, Mr David Dixon:
Welcome to our School! Bowbridge Primary is one of the largest of its type in the County of Nottinghamshire. It offers a wide range of ever improving facilities for over 500 children from 3 to 11 years, Nursery to Year 6. Visitors are always welcome to see how the school provides opportunities for learning and other services for the local community.
We have many exciting projects on the go, so please stay and find out what's new at Bowbridge. Enjoy your visit!
Why 'Bowbridge Primary' and why the motto?
The name of the school comes from the nearby hair-pin bend in the road which crosses a small bridge (Bowbridge Lane). This is reflected in our logo. The yellow road also represents the road to learning or even a ‘learning curve’. The colours on the logo are the red, blue and yellow primary colours because we are a primary school.
The school motto ‘Learning For Life’ is very important. It sums up what we want to encourage for all the adults and children associated with the school. This includes providing training opportunities for teachers, parents and governors as well as the school curriculum for the children. You’re never too old to learn (old dogs can learn new tricks!) and you can find out how in the section Adult Learning which gives details of our partnership with Newark & Sherwood College. If children see the adults around them as ‘learners’, they are more likely to see how important learning is and that it should be a lifelong activity
